Fountain Resource Group

The group was born in 1991 at a day-long conference of all the community and voluntary groups, statutory agencies and all other interested stake-holders focused on the chronic unemployment, massive social exclusion and the underlying poverty suffered by the James’ Street area.

The high levels of social marginalization in the area led to a vicious circle of poverty, drug and alcohol abuse and family breakdown.

The Fountain Resource Group has a strong social partnership ethos and tries to include the private, public and community sectors.

The task force funds the Coordinator, a Parenting Course and a Family Support Service.
